Working in construction was never part of my original plan, but it has given me the opportunity to combine my passion for the environment with a career that makes a real difference. I’m Jessica Rogers, an Environmental Apprentice working on the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier project with Kier Natural Resources, based in Somerset.

Flood resilience is becoming increasingly critical across the South West, and for me, it’s more than just part of my job. I was inspired to be part of the solution. As an an Agent at Kier Natural Resources, I’m helping to build flood and tidal defence schemes that protect communities, homes and businesses from flooding.

Hi, I’m Jessica, a recent graduate from Edge Hill University, where I earned a degree in Geoenvironmental Hazards. I’ve recently joined Watertight International as a new starter. My passion for natural hazards – particularly flooding, which is so prevalent in the UK – is what inspired me to pursue this career path.
