Constructing Change has been shortlisted for the Social Value & Community Impact Award at the 2026 British Construction & Infrastructure Awards, recognising the impact that its Learning in Action programme is having on young people, schools and the wider construction industry.
The award celebrates initiatives that go beyond project delivery to create meaningful benefits for local communities. For Constructing Change, that means helping young people discover careers they may never previously have considered while supporting the industry’s future workforce.
Since launching in 2024, the programme has engaged more than 100 young people; delivered around 600 hours of meaningful workplace experience; worked alongside 18 industry partners across 22 live sites; and seen around 70% female participation.
Elizabeth Griffin-Bennett, CEO of Constructing Change said: “This recognition is particularly special because it celebrates social value, which sits at the heart of everything we do. Learning in Action is about creating opportunities that leave a lasting impact, not just for students, but for schools, communities and the industry itself.
“We are very grateful to every partner organisation that has opened its sites, shared its expertise and helped make these experiences possible.”
The shortlist follows Constructing Change’s recent recognition at the Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering Awards, reflecting the growing impact of the organisation’s work to strengthen the future workforce and widen access into construction.
Winners will be announced at a gala reception in London on 14 October 2026.
