Constructing Change is delighted to welcome Constructing Excellence as its newest corporate member, bringing together two organisations committed to creating a more inclusive and forward-looking construction industry.
Constructing Excellence is the single organisation driving change across construction, working to improve industry performance and produce a better built environment.
Its movement operates at national, regional and local level across the UK, and increasingly internationally. Its network includes nine regional centres covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland, alongside more than 30 local best practice clubs. Led by independent volunteer committees, these clubs engage construction businesses and SMEs through regular events, knowledge sharing and networking.
Constructing Excellence has been at the forefront of industry improvement for more than two decades. Its work builds on the influential Latham and Egan reports, while milestones have included the Construction Commitments developed to support the successful delivery of the London 2012 Olympic Games and its own Never Waste a Good Crisis report, published in 2010.
By joining Constructing Change, Constructing Excellence will support our work to introduce more young people to the breadth of careers available across construction, particularly girls and those who might not otherwise see the sector as open or accessible to them.
Alison Nicholl, head of Constructing Excellence, said: “Constructing Excellence is delighted to join Constructing Change. Both organisations share a commitment to creating a more inclusive, diverse and equitable construction industry that attracts and retains the widest range of talent. By working together, we can amplify our impact, share best practice and support cultural change across the sector through collaboration, education and leadership. This partnership aligns with Constructing Excellence’s mission to drive industry improvement and deliver a built environment that better reflects and serves the communities it supports.”
Elizabeth Griffin-Bennett, CEO of Constructing Change, said: “Constructing Excellence’s reach, experience and commitment to improving the industry make it a natural fit for Constructing Change. By working together, we can help more young people see the opportunities available to them and encourage the industry to draw talent from the widest possible range of backgrounds. We’re really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
